Kurofune Cebu - Authentic Japanese Unagi & Tempura restaurant

I recently visited this Japanese restaurant and was genuinely impressed by the staff's accommodating and respectful demeanor. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, and their friendly approach made my dining experience even better. The ambience of the place is perfect for solo diners, allowing for a comfortable and relaxed meal. As for the food, I found the pork to be particularly tender and flavorful. (I think pork must be a bit tender is better) While everything I tried was delicious, I especially enjoyed the side dishes—the soup and tofu were standouts for me! The tofu was simply fantastic. I will definitely be returning and will recommend this place to my friends and family. A big shoutout to the staff for their excellent service—keep up the great work!

8/10 Unagi is very tender and fatty and the sauce complements it well. Staff were fast probably bcs we’re the only customer at the time but food was served quickly. It was hot inside, not well ventilated or probably bcs we’re far from the AC. Not bad for our first unagi experience.

We ate at Kurofune and really enjoyed our meal. The unagi was soft and flavorful, with a sweet glaze that blended perfectly with the rice. The pork teriyaki was tender and juicy, cooked just right with a nice balance of flavor. The place has a cozy atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a satisfying and authentic Japanese dining experience that we’d love to have again.

The tamago with eel and eel are delicious especially with the unagi sauce. The ebi tempura is very big and crispy with great taste. I don’t really like the creamy tonkotsu ramen since it tastes too milky. Overall my dining experience is great and the staff is very accommodating.

I went there on the strong recommendation of a friend from Cebu. As expected from a restaurant specializing in eel, it was delicious. I ordered the whole eel dish called “Kiwami,” and I enjoyed it to the very last bite without getting tired of it. The portion of rice was just right—not too much—and clearly well thought out. They also serve other dishes like chicken katsu-don. The staff were quick and pleasant. They have a branch in Manila as well, where the same taste and quality of service are maintained.
